2002 Steeda Mustang GT Convertible #2002-047
Serial number: 2002-047, Verified by Steeda Autosports
Color: Black exterior, Dark Charcoal interior, Black convertible top
This Mustang is from the Steeda Autosports Serialized Vehicle Program and comes with exclusive Steeda custom parts, engine badging, graphics, decals, and serial number plate. It was modified at Steeda Autosports in Pompano Beach, FL then sold by Cowles Ford in Woodbridge, VA. Car will come with 3 sets of keys with remote keyless entry fobs and owner's manual pack.
Vehicle was originally sold by Cowles Ford (Steeda Authorized dealer) in Woodbridge, VA back in 2002.
I am the 3rd owner (according to CARFAX) and I purchased it in Warrenton, VA with 45,500 miles in December 2005.
The vehicle is in Woodbridge, VA and the current mileage is around 82,890 miles. The convertible top was replaced about 2 years ago at around 79,000 miles, brake pads, rotors, driver side front brake caliper and tires were replaced last May at around 81,000 miles. The fuel pump malfunctioned on 12/27/14 at 82,500 miles and the car sat until 3/21/15 when the pump and filter was replaced. It passed VA state Inspection on 4/7/15 and a Castrol Edge Syntec Synthetic oil change was done on 5/17/15 at 82,700.
Last summer I made 2 trips to Connecticut about 360 miles each way. A whole tank of gas, about 13 or so gallons later, I calculated the car got 27 mpg on the highway averaging overall 60-70mph. That's even better than many older small cars! Normal around the town driving, it may get around 13-18 mpg depending on how much fun one's having or how bad the traffic is and how short the trips are, etc... city driving. But overall mixed driving it's around 18-23 mpg. I use 93 octane gas because the Steeda timing adjuster is set for 3 degrees advance above factory setting for more responsive throttle and more power. If you want to use 87 octane gas, dial it back 3 degrees to factory setting...
Features:
Air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, 4 channel, 4 wheel anti-lock (ABS) disc brakes, traction control, LED fog lights, and all other lights upgraded to LED along with bi-xenon HID headlights. MACH 460 stereo system, Harman Kardon Drive+Play IPOD controller, power convertible top with heated rear glass, leather seats, 6 way power driver seat with power air bladder lumbar support, power mirrors and locks, remote trunk release, compact spare, jack and lug nut wrench, 4.6L SOHC V-8 engine (VIN CODE X - Windsor plant), Tremec TR3650 5 speed transmission, and synthetic oils used throughout.
The car comes factory equipped, on convertibles, with subframe braces and a lower K-member tie bar under the engine, a comprehensive set of Steeda engineered, manufactured, and installed parts that include billet aluminum switches, covers, handles, pedals, knobs, plates, short shifter, coil springs, braces and performance parts. I've since added additional pieces in addition to what the car was originally equipped by Steeda.
Performance parts includes:
Recent NEW parts installed and repairs done:
Vehicle can be made available for inspection at buyer's expense but has to be local to Prince William County, VA.
The car is in very good condition probably above average with, some chips and surface scratches consistent with a car this age. But it is a used car and is not and will not be perfect. A little cowl shake at around 60 or so but fine above and below... maybe a wheel balance, alignment or something else. But seems to go away a bit once the soft high performance tires heat up because it's inconsistent... and then i don't notice it anymore. I've check for play in the suspension and steering and seemed fine. The car does sit a lot. Many convertible cars do this... at different times... perhaps a stronger aftermarket subframe bracing kits would help...
Blackstone Laboratories Oil Analysis Report came back very good. It does show 36 parts per million (ppm) iron in the oil sample but all other values are good. The slightly higher iron is probably due to wear on the steel timing chain components, (receiving oil last compared with the valvetrain and main/rod bearings). But the fact the car sits for most of the time and started from time to time for short periods (moving it around) and you know what they say, starting engines is the worst thing to do (most wear occurs at startup)... but other than that, all other values are fine with the engine. With regular usage, I'm sure the iron would normalize. Using synthetic oil probably also helps.
The car is sold AS IS WHERE IS and there may or may not be any other unknown issues that may exist that I didn't notice or may occur in the future. No warranties are applied or implied.
Pirelli Tires are no longer on vehicle as pictured on the early pictures of the rear wheels. Vehicle has a set of 4 new 285/35-18 tires matching tires.
These pages kept in remembrance of such a nice fun and missed car.
